VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE

Lauds efforts to continue to raise awareness about climate change

Nashville, TN- The Tennessee Democratic Party released the following statement commending Vice President Al Gore on his shared Nobel Peace Prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for work to create public interest in preserving our environment for future generations:

"Being a patriot, a global citizen, and a true statesman, Vice President Gore has marched headstrong towards raising education and awareness of global climate change," said Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Gray Sasser.

"We congratulate Vice President Gore for being a strong voice of reason for a generation which has seen the dramatic effects of carbon emissions and pollution upon our environment," Sasser continued. "Vice President Gore has exhibited the hard work of a lifetime committed to leading from both the public and private realm.

"We are proud of Vice President Gore's Tennessee heritage; however, we are even prouder of the commitment he has made to global citizenship."
